the attached patch should fix the bug that caused smstools to crash when
closing or shading the data presentations on mac os x. it contains some
rather ugly workaround to force fltk on mac os x to display the embedded
opengl windows correctly (forcing some extra hide/show/redraw - this
causes some flikkering, but otherwise the window content would get badly
corrupted...)

it also fix a build problem and a smstools file chooser problem.
