hi, do you have access to that firewall? you know if you're behind a proxy?
i think the common irc port is 6667

maybe you can try with this web based client too: http://www.ircatwork.com/

On the other hand, I'm not sure if there is a way to connect by port
80 (http) to the irc (like the common IM clients trick to avoid
blocks)
